International Competition of Young Pianists Devoted the Work of F. Chopin, Narva, Estonia, 27.01-03.02.2008
(2007 02 15 14:38)7th international Competition of Young Pianists Devoted the Work of F. Chopin, Narva, Estonia - encounters, excursions, master classes for the music teachers accompanying young musicians, musical evenings and meetings with local Narva Music School students create a special atmosphere around the event.
"Dear admirers of Chopin music! When I got the idea to organise this competition many people asked me why exactly in Estonia and in Narva. My answer was simple: I love Chopin music and as I was the Ambassador of Poland here in Estonia, I decided to organise this competition just here, thinking also of the perspective for the future. The competition of Chopin music is at the same time also a festival for his admirers…"
With these words Mr. Jakub Wolansiewicz, Ambassador of Poland in Estonia invited participants of the first event in 1997. This was due to his and the City of Narva’ initiative that the competition for young pianists of Estonian music schools devoted to the famous Polish composer F. Chopin started to take place in Narva.
The success of the first edition encouraged the organisers to launch in 1999 the 1st INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF YOUNG PIANISTS DEVOTED TO THE WORK OF F. CHOPIN.
