comming soon ;; European Congress on cultural policy „kultur.macht.europa”
(2007 02 27 10:51)
The Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft – the German nationwide association for the conceptual and practical further development of cultural policy is inviting cultural operators, policy makers, practitioners to Berlin to takes part in the Fourth Federal Congress on Cultural Policy entitled culture.powers.europe.
The organisers have the ambition to cover during two days almost all current questions discussed in Europe. The congress' concept says: „Europe is a continent of culture and a great attraction - a fact of which Europeans themselves are often the least aware. The variety of languages, cultures, traditions and forms of artistic expression, and also the wealth of the cultural heritage and the diversity and quality of the offerings and activities in the different branches of the arts, are considered to be creativity and identity resources that make Europe stand out in the world. But does Europe also exploit this potential at home? Is the existing cultural diversity in itself really sufficient as an identification offering for creating a »Europe of the Citizens«? If it is true that the »Cultural Power Europe« is attractive to people of all continents, also because of its cultural potentials, is European cultural policy then not more challenged to actively field these forces of attraction in the world of global competition? The Fourth Federal Congress on Cultural Policy will look into these questions”.
