The Portuguese Presidency in the EU :: 1st July – 31st December 2007

The presidency in the EU is running under the motto ‘A stronger Union for a better World’.
Among its main tasks outlined for the coming six months are the following:
- the reform of the Treaties,
- better implementation of the Lisbon Strategy
- more efficient external action.
As far as culture is concerned, the Communication on Culture is to be adopted during the Portuguese presidency and the first Cultural Forum will be held in Lisbon on 26-27 September 2007.
