Conclusions of the Cultural Forum for Europe
(2007 10 16 15:11)
About four hundred European cultural civil society representatives and cultural stakeholders, including ARS BALTICA representatives, participated in the Cultural Forum for Europe (26-27 September 2007, Lisbon).
Biennial Cultural Forum was proposed in the “Communication on a European agenda for culture in a globalising world” published by the European Commission on 10 May 2007. The EC’s proposal was implemented by the Portuguese presidency.
The Forum’s agenda was based on the Commission’s Communication and accordingly comprised workshops on intercultural dialogue, the economy of culture and the external dimension of culture.
The conclusions drawn from the exchange of different perspectives during two-days’ debates were presented to European Commission’s officials and ministerial delegations. The event was followed directly by an Informal Meeting of the EU Ministries of Culture, meant to prepare the Culture Council decision on the Communication in November.
Read the Contributions to the Cultural Forum resulting from an informal meeting of member organisations of the European Forum for the Arts and Heritage (EFAH), including ARS BALTICA, and of Portuguese cultural organizations.
