‘Culture Online’ confererence :: 06.06.2008; Brdo, Slovenia
(2008 06 12 23:14)The conference was opened by the Slovenian Minister of Culture and current EU Council President, Dr Vasko Simoniti, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Dr Jelka Pirkovič, and the Head of the European Parliament Information Office in Slovenia, Nataša Goršek Mencin.
The programme consisted of two main issues - Cultural Content Interoperability and Cultural Content Creation and Preservation and Use, as well as a Minerva Project Workshop.
The main aim of the meeting was to decide what kinds of digital cultural content are suitable for use and reuse in a WEB 2.0 environment, in cultural sectors, education, lifelong learning and in cultural tourism. The opportunities, challenges and obstacles in the creation, use and storing of digital cultural content in various cultural institutions were also discussed.
The participants of the conference were experts in the field of digital cultural content as well as representatives of public institutions and services and different stakeholders.
The session was concluded by State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Dr Jelka Pirkovič, and the European Ambassador for Intercultural Dialogue, Marko Peljhan.
