COMPENDIUM - new web space on Transversal Issues in Cultural Policy
(2007 02 13 14:12)COMPENDIUM is an expanding Europe-wide information and monitoring system on cultural policy measures, instruments, debates and cultural trends. It is a joint venture between the Council of Europe and the ERICarts Institute realised with a community of practice of independent cultural policy researchers, NGOs and national governments.
The Council of Europe and ERICarts welcome to visit the new web space Transversal Issues in Cultural Policy.
This new web space has been created in order to better highlight and integrate information on cross-cutting, "transversal" issues of priority to the Council of Europe, to experts in other international organisations and in the participating Compendium countries, as well as to the research community. All issues are reported on in different parts of the Compendium profiles and are addressed in comparative and/or monitoring tables produced over the past years.
The selected issues are:
· intercultural dialogue;
· cultural diversity;
· the status of artists; and
· international cultural co-operation.
The main objectives of this new section are to:
· facilitate transversal approaches to cultural policy thinking, analysis and monitoring;
· enable integrated access to specific "information clusters" from one point within the Compendium system;
· visually demonstrate cross referencing and links between sub-chapters in the Compendium; and
· better promote existing and new Compendium activities such as monitoring tables and comparative tools.
Users will select one of these issues and be led to its individual web page containing the following type of information:
· short introduction (methodology, definitions etc);
· links to relevant Compendium sub-chapters;
· existing and new comparative/monitoring tables;
· possibility for users to create integrated country reports (compiling information from different countries or from different chapters into one document);
· links to key resources.
A database of good practice cases on intercultural dialogue has also been added.
The editors of the webpage look forward to sending your comments to this email address.
