ARCADE Seminar, Stalowa Wola – Krakow, 28-30 May 2008

The third Seminar within the project ARCADE (Awareness Raising on Culture and Development in Europe ) will take place in Stalowa Wola and Krakow in Poland on 28-30 May 2008.
The ARCADE project promotes cultural and artistic identity of developing countries in Europe and highlights that the respect for cultural diversity is a prerequisite for successful and sustainable development projects. It is devoted to raising awareness and sensitizing European development actors to the crucial role that cultural sector plays in international development. The project’s coordinator is the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED), in partnership with the European New Towns Platform (ENTP) and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Comparative Research in the Social Sciences (CIR).
The Seminar on "Preservation of cultural heritage and local community development, History, Identity, Heritage and Memory” will bring together actors of culture and social development from various backgrounds. Its aim is to exchange experiences and ideas on culture and heritage preservation.
ARCADE opened two calls for proposals.
Deadline: both papers (with a focus on research and analysis) and case studies (with a focus on practical experience and good practice examples) should be submitted no later than 7 April 2008.
