Apart from the main event in May, BluesBaltica organizes several other projects such as the German & Baltic Blues Challenge Eutin which started in 2009. This annual blues competition in October is the biggest intercontinental music project established as a music genre in Europe. Its laureates in the category Band and Solo/Duet will be invited to join the worldwide finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee (USA). The preselection for the challenge in Eutin will be executed by participating professional journals together with several particular festivals.
Another project initiated by BluesBaltica is called Blues@School, taking place five to ten times a year. Within the frame of this project well-known, particularly American Blues musicians teach students aged about 14 to 16 years old at schools situated in Schleswig-Holstein (northern Germany). Thereby not only the style of music is of significant importance. Moreover, the history of Blues and its socio-cultural heritage play an important role, too and shall invite people to actively join the project.
BluesBaltica is dedicated to lovers of music – especially blues music – from all over Europe, mainly from Germany and the Baltic Sea Region.
BluesBaltica cooperates with musicians, agencies, blues festivals, blues magazines, blues radios, blues clubs and blues societies from different countries (e.g. European Blues Union, Belgium, Blues Foundation, USA) and with the German Blues Awards (GBA).
