The hub for dance discovery Aerowaves is offering an annual open call for emerging choreographers working in Europe who want to become one of the Aerowaves Twenty. Selected artists will have the opportunity to have their work presented at next year's Spring Forward Festival in Dublin.
Every applicant will have the opportunity to have their work programmed by the partners of the network, whether or not they are selected as Aerowaves artists. Around 100 performance opportunities are guaranteed by the partners and supported by Aerowaves each year. The selected Aerowaves Twenty artists' work will be promoted by Aerowaves via its website for one year by an artist profile, with images, video and press coverage all in one place as well as during the Aerowaves Spring Forward Festival. The Festival provides a platform for some of Europe’s most vibrant and promising choreographers to show their work to performing arts professionals and local audiences. The festival is broadcast to reach dance fans across the world.
Applicants have to be residents in geographical Europe, submitted work must be 15-40 minutes in length. Previous Aerowaves applicants, successful or unsuccessful, may apply again with a different work.
Deadline for applications is 7 September. All applications will be reviewed before the end of October. A selection of artists will be finalized in the two weeks following the decisions of the Aerowaves partners meeting and accepted candidates will be notified by email.
