The BSR Cultural Pearls project is excited to welcome you to the webinar 'Engaging Communities: Tools and Approaches for Co-Creation' with expert Monika Arczyńska (Poland), taking place on June 4 at 10.00 CET.
The expert’s presentation will focus on participatory processes in both short- and long-term projects planned for the Ząbkowice district in Dąbrowa Górnicza (Poland). It was once famous for its glassworks and world class designs, now neglected and in need for urban regeneration. The Local Action Plan was developed in collaboration between local community, artists, researchers, and local business which includes a number of ideas associated with glass heritage of the district.
Monika Arczyńska is a co-founder of A2P2 – a consulting and design company, providing services in participatory design of districts and public spaces in major Polish cities, masterplanning and consultancy in pre-planning stage of public buildings. She studied at Gdańsk University of Technology and TU Delft. Her PhD thesis was focused on the relations between consumer society and sustainable housing. Ahe is adjunct professor at Gdańsk University of Technology and also lectures postgraduate courses. In 2006-2017. she was employed with Heneghan Peng Architects and involved in designing public buildings (ie. Grand Egyptian Museum and Palestinian Museum awarded with Aga Khan Award). She is also a contributor to a number of architectural magazines including Czech INTRO.
