This call offers support, exposure and exciting performance opportunities for 20 exceptional dance artists and choreographers. The application portal for the promotion period in 2025 is now open and encourages European artists to apply with one finished and premiered work.
Artists provide a Vimeo link to their work during the application, making it visible for Aerowaves and its partners. It should be easily transferable to other performance spaces, meaning little technical setup or requisites, and be between 15 and 40 minutes long.
The dance promotion platform Aerowaves, funded by Creative Europe, has been up and running for 27 years and has grown an enormous base of followers, thus opening up a goldmine of contacts and possible audiences for the Twenty25. Its partners offer around 100 performance opportunities for 2025 to be given to applicants, no matter if they make it into the Twenty25. Additionally, the Aerowaves website will feature an artist profile of the selected 20 for one year, containing videos, a biography, press coverage and images all in one place. Artists can share their upcoming performances to be listed in the Aerowaves calendar and promoted across their social media networks.
The next Twenty25 will be selected based on the originality and bravery of the underlying concept and structural and artistic clarity. Aerowaves directs its support primarily towards emerging dance artists with little experience in cross-border touring, but whose career is beginning to soar. The successful applicants will be notified shortly after the Aerowaves Partner meeting and voting in late October and receive the unique opportunity to perform at the Spring Forward Festival, the most internationally renowned one amongst the offered gigs in Gorizia, Italy, from April 24th to 26th, 2025.
