Copenhagen Jazz Festival

Every single summer since 1979 Copenhagen Jazz Festival has been taking over Copenhagen as one of Europe’s most important international music events. The 2022 edition starts today and takes place until 10 July.

The festival focus on new departures in both Danish and international jazz. Copenhagen’s unique jazz history is a key factor in the exceptionally high level of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, something that can be experienced at the many free open-air stages strategically located throughout the historical city centre.

Copenhagen Jazz Festival takes a pride in reaching many – and new – audiences, with tailor-made programmes for pensioners and teenagers, kids and their families, as well as catering for jazz aficionados and enthusiasts. Visitors can look forward to Copenhagen as a friendly and creative city where it’s safe to wander around accompanied by jazz night and day.

Herbie Hancock, Gilberto Gil, Dianne Reeves, Melody Gardot, Jeff Beck, Icelandic Ólafur Arnalds and British-Niegarian Ola Onabulé are among the many headliners for the 2022 edition of Copenhagen Jazz Festival. British-born Jeff Beck is considered one of the greatest electric guitarists of all time, having received widespread acclaim from critics and listeners alike since the 1960s. Elvis Costello has been composing tunes from the age of thirteen, and 2017 marked the 40th anniversary of his debut album “My Aim Is True”. His discography is sizable with over 30 albums and collaborations with notable songwriters – Paul McCartney, Burt Bacharach and others.
