Culture For Resilience Forum by BSR Cultural Pearls | Register by April 15

On 7 and 8 May 2024, the BSR Cultural Pearls project, which ARS BALTICA is a partner of and which is co-funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region, is hosting the Culture for Resilience Forum 2024 #c4rforum in Jakobstad/Pietarsaari, Finland.

The city is also one of the four Cultural Pearls 2024, a title awarded by the project to the most promising Cultural Resilience Action Plans. The latter are to be implemented within the title year assisted by mentoring and further resources provided by the project.

The event, as well as the project itself, focuses on the role of culture in societal resilience and community strengthening and brings together 100+ officials, creatives and professionals exchanging ideas on how culture can consolidate and empower communities, thereby enhancing their social resilience.

The forum will be most relevant to municipalities of small and medium size cities in the Baltic Sea Region, professionals from the cultural and creative industries (CCI) and researchers.

What to expect?

  • Engaging keynote speakers, discussions, and workshops on the challenges of a multilingual city / knowledge transfer between generations / engaging youth in social communities / inclusive strategies for cultural work
  • Presentations by cities awarded the BSR Cultural Pearls title 2024 – Jakobstad/Pietarsaari (Finland), Kiel (Germany), Rūjiena (Latvia), Svendborg (Denmark) Networking opportunities with experts and practitioners
  • Unique opportunity to engage with key cultural, academic, and political figures, and to be part of a transformative dialogue on culture-driven social resilience
