Diversity of the Artistic Process

Brunnenpassage from Vienna is organising the seminar Diversity as Essential Part of the Artistic Process that will take a critical approach to existing privileges, hierarchies and decision making structures in the artistic knowledge production, putting emphasis on diversity as an essential part of the artistic process.

The Project Office for Diversity and Urban Dialogue D/Arts will bring the discussion about diversity and transformations inside cultural institutions to the spaces of the Belvedere Museum – one of the most prestigious cultural institutions of Vienna. The aim is to engage artists and cultural workers with directors of cultural institutions and policy makers to discuss strategies for sustainable transformation of the cultural sector.

The event will take place from 31 March to 2 April. Apeakers at the event are the writer and journalist Fairooz Tamimi, the Managing Director of Trans Europe Halles Tiffany Fukuma and the Chilean- Mexican Artist Amanda Piña. The event is organized and hosted by Brunnenpassage in cooperation with Trans Europe Halles and is part of Trans Europe Halles Arts Education Hub and the SPOTing project. Spaces of Transformation in Arts Education (SPOTing) brings together arts educators from 8 cultural centres around Europe. The project aims to stimulate professional development and knowledge exchange within the field. It also strives to support professionals and evaluate existing practices. The main mission is to strengthen the field of arts education in Europe.
