On June 27th, the first open artist exchange as part of our ABCD - ARS BALTICA Creative Dialogue series, titled ART Bridges Baltic, took place. This series aims to strengthen networking in Schleswig-Holstein and the Baltic Sea Region, deepening connections, and exploring how ARS BALTICA might be able to facilitate new synergies. This gathering is envisioned as a first step in a smaller round towards creating lasting momentum for future collaborations.
This particular event was especially inspired by the arrival of the artists Oksana Yushko
(www.oksanayushko.com) and Arthur Bondar (www.arthurbondar.com), who ARS BALTICA and the Nordkolleg Rendsburg are hosting for a year-long residency until July next year. In an intimate round, insights on current work, hopes and needs were shared and discussed. Furthermore, topics such as working with repurposed materials such as fishing nets and being inspired by one's surroundings as well as the migration of humans and birds were touched upon. This was complemented by enjoying the beautiful nature, which the Nordkolleg Rendsburg, where the exchange took place, is encapsuled in.
