The cross-national network Tanz für junges Publikum (Network Dance for Young Audiences) - explore dance is organising a first digital event series in order to draw attention to dance networks and dance institutions in European countries and to present best practice models in touring.
explore dance aims to close a gap that still exists in cultural offerings for children and young people in Germany. The network want to develop and strengthen the field of dance for young audiences nationwide through the production, mediation and reception of dance pieces at a high artistic level. Cultural offerings for children and young people in particular have experienced a significant decline due to the pandemic. The engagement with body and movement will therefore become even more important for the development of children and young people in the coming years.
The digital Zoom events "DANCE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCE: TOURING MODELS OF EUROPEAN DANCE INSTITUTIONS- STRUCTURE FOR VISIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF ARTISTIC WORK" will take place on 4 November and 2 Deecember and will serve both exchange and networking of partner institutions across Europe. explore dance wants to give all children and young people access to dance as an art form and enable them to participate in artistic experiences, regardless of where they live or of their social background. In doing so the network also strengthens the visibility in the long term: contemporary dance is to be anchored permanently and on an equal footing with other art forms and genres in the standard programme of cultural activities available to children and young people.
