The International Wildlife Film Festival GREEN SCREEN is the most popular annually festival for nature documentaries in Europe and an important international industry meeting place for professionals. This year's festival takes place from 4-19 September.
Thousands of nature-loving film fans watch the best films from all over the world at the annually GREEN SCREEN festival. All nominated and additionally selected films will be shown in Eckernförde, a town in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. A selection of films will be presented in cinemas in various cities in Schleswig-Holstein from 13-19 September due to the current Covid situation. The Green Screen award ceremony will be accessible online and will feature filmmakers from all over the world on 11 September.
A diverse program will be offered to young people. Films of young filmmakers will be shown and awarded at the festival during the Heinz Sielmann Youth Film Award. Professional filmmakers will be present at the event to give you all the tips and tricks of the trade to make a winning film. Young people will also get the opportunity to shoot a nature or animal film yourself at the GREEN SCREEN youth nature film camps at Eekholt Wildlife Park (ages 13-18) and Multimar Wattforum (ages 14-20).
The festival also offers online seminars for experts. This includes the presentation of new trends in nature films and pitching sessions where filmmakers present their ideas for new productions to a panel of experts. Check out this year's program here.
