The aim of the 19th folkBALTICA is to revive courage and hope through music, which is also the motto of this year's edition: Mut & Hoffnung • Mod & Håb. The festival will take place from 6 to 14 May.
The artist in residence of this year's festival is the singer and accordion player Justine Boesen. After the great success of the Folk Salon 2022 at Palais Augustiana in Augustenborg, artists will come together under Boesen's direction to create a special concert experience. The "nord - süd" (North-South) concert will go into the third round with the Scandinavian band Víík and the multi-artist FLO, a much admired up-and-coming Italian singer. folkBALTICA will also start a special music journey through the Baltic Sea Region countries with the Swedish folk'appella quartet Kongero, the Finnish duo Pokela & Järvelä and the musicians of Summers & Silvola, a Scottish-Finnish duo.
During this year's festival, a total of 27 concerts concerts will take place at 23 venues in Schleswig-Holstein and Sønderjylland. The whole program can be found here.
