Forecast Festival

Forecast offers artists and creative thinkers from anywhere in the world the chance to work with accomplished mentors toward bringing their projects to fruition. Forecast transcends neatly defined disciplines and genres to provide insight into creative production processes. For each edition, Forecast selects six mentors of various disciplines who offer selected participants their expertise in specifying and realizing their project ideas.

The mentees of the fourth and fifth editions of Forecast will unveil their productions at the Forecast Festivals, which take place as hybrid events on 9 and 10 April. Following the postponement of the fourth edition’s closing event by a year due to the pandemic, both editions will celebrate their culmination in two consecutive events. Twelve artists and thinkers of both festivals will bring their projects to life in concerts, performances, installations, and conversations with leading figures in their fields:

The programme will start with the London-based fictional consultancy PostRational that will present a digital exhibition shining a light on waste streams of the so-called digital world. Working with mentor Evgeny Morozov, PostRational brings theoretical and creative critique to a topic that demands attention.

Jonathan Reus will discuss his project ‚Celestial Fruit on Earthly Ground‘, an interactive exploration of the banjo, a historically complex musical instrument that can be thought of as a map of material-embodied cultures, packed with the stories and ideas of peoples. Check out the entire programme and explore the selected projects in Forecast's fourth and fifth edition.
