The Icelandic Art Center awards travel grants to Icelandic or Iceland based visual artists. The grants are intended for travel, accommodation and related costs and are awarded for exhibitions, projects and residences abroad.
Applying artists must have Icelandic citizenship or must have been residents in Iceland for at least five years as well as have exhibited professionally before. Applications may be submitted by the artists themselves, or, on their behalf, by professional curators, organisers or art administrators who wish to exhibit the artists’ work. The project has to take place in the same year as the application year.
Successful applicants are asked to provide the Center with information on the project to present on IAC´s website. Deadlines for applications are:
1. February for the period of February – May
1. June for the period of June – September
1. October for the period of October – January

The Icelandic Art Center promotes and supports Icelandic contemporary art internationally through grants, collaborations and projects. The Center serves as an information point for curators, press, artists and art institutions.
