Together with the Nordkolleg Rendsburg, we at ARS BALTICA are delighted to host artists Oksana Yushko and Arthur Bondar until next July and want to let them introduce themselves in more detail.
Arthur Bondar and Oksana Yushko are multidisciplinary artists and photographers working on projects across Europe, the Caucasus and the Baltic Sea region. Their artistic practice is grounded in documentary, sociological and anthropological research and extends across various media, including photography, video and installation. The duo explores the interconnectedness of hidden elements, focusing on themes such as borders, memory, post-trauma, the relationship between culture and nature, and the interpretation of facts and historical narratives. Their work, which addresses important humanitarian issues, has been exhibited and published internationally and is held in institutional and private collections worldwide.
During their residency in Rendsburg, hosted by ARS BALTICA / Nordkolleg Rendsburg, the artists will continue their research-based practice aimed at bridging the gap and discovering the interconnectedness of different elements beyond the simple dichotomy of the complex world.
