Jugend Film Fest | Youth Film Festival

The Youth Film Festival is a festival for young filmmakers from Schleswig-Holstein, Northern Germany. This year's festival will award the YOUTH FILM PRIZE SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN and the YOUNG TALENTS FILM PRIZE SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN between 19 and 21 November in Kiel.

Every year the Schleswig-Holstein Association of Youth and Film awards prizes for the best films by young filmmakers in the northernmost state. All films submitted are presented at the Schleswig-Holstein Youth Film Festival, the film weekend for filmmakers up to the age of 27. The YOUTH FILM PRIZE SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN is the prize for all 13 to 18 year olds and the YOUNG TALENTS FILM PRIZE SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN is the prize for all 19 to 27 year olds. Up to five of the short films submitted will be nominated for the Young TalentS Film Prize and up to three short films for the Youth Film Prize. All nominated films will be shown at the finale in Kiel's STUDIO film theater.

Young filmmakers will also get the opportunity to show each other their films, give each other tips, get to know other young filmmakers and network. The Schleswig-Holstein Youth Film Festival is organized by the Schleswig-Holstein Youth & Film Association and the International Training Center Jugendhof Scheersberg.

Filmmakers who are interesting to participate in the next year's event: At least one of the people who directed the film have to be from Schleswig-Holstein. In the case of the Young Talent Award, the oldest team member in a key position during the shoot may not be more than 27 years old In the case of the Youth Film Prize, the oldest team member in a key position during the shoot may not be more than 18 years old - projects that were supervised by older people can also be submitted, e.g. by school film groups.
