NEMO-Webinar on Trans-Inclusive Cultural Institution | 10 September 2024

On September 10th, from 11.00 to 12.00 CEST, the NEMO will hold a free webinar titled 'Guidance on advancing trans inclusion for museums, galleries, archives and heritage organisations'. Co-organized by the university of Leicester, it dips into an extensive manual created by the university to lead the way towards trans-inclusive cultural institutions.

A maximum of 200 participants will gain insight into the functionality of the guidance. Prior registration is mandatory and places will be given on a "first come, first serve" basis.

This is the third webinar in a series of four by the Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO). The previous topics were 'Rethinking accessibility strategies in museums' and 'Connect and grow: Effective digital storytelling in museums'. E-J Scott, Suzanne MacLeod and Richard Sandell from the Research Centre for Museum and Galleries at the University Leicester (RCMG) facilitate this event presenting their guidelines. They aim to dissolve the disinformation surrounding the debate at hand through clarity and pragmatism.

The online event is primarily directed towards people working in museums, archives or heritage from all over the world, although it was created from a UK viewpoint. It covers issues such as the creation of a safe space, the cooperation with trans communities or the development of trans-inclusive events. Webinar attendees are encouraged to bring to the session any queries or challenges relating to trans inclusion that they are currently working on.

Are you ready to foster inclusion in your institution with the support of this guidance? Read the details here and register now to secure one of the quickly assigned places.
