The largest exhibition of contemporary art in Europe - NordArt - opens its doors in 2021 for the 22nd time and invites the visitors once again to a art tour. The exhibition of contemporary art can be visited in Büdelsdorf, Schleswig-Holstein (Germany) until 10 October.
NordArt 2021 takes up the plans of the previous year, but many of the planned projects have been updated and new ideas have been added. This year's exhibition focuses on one theme: the examination of our ethical principles and the search for ways to rescue lost values into the modern age.
The country focus is dedicated to contemporary art in Ukraine. The patronage has been taken over by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany H.E. Dr. Andrij Melnyk. The special exhibition "Identity - Contemporary Art from Central Asia", which shows paintings from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, also focuses on the search for orientation. NordArt 2021 presents selected paintings and sculptures, photographs, video works and installations by more than 200 artists from all over the world. The participating artists can be found here.
12 digital guided tours of NordArt 2021 can also be found on exhibition's YouTube account for everyone who is not able to visit Büdelsdorf in physical.
Since 1999 the NordArt has established itself as one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in Europe which takes place annually in the summer months in North Germany. More than 200 international artists, selected by a jury, present a comprehensive panorama of contemporary art. Each individual work not only speaks for itself but also creates new perspectives when seen juxtaposed against the unique backdrop offered by the Carlshütte and the historical sculpture park.
