The Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (short EVZ in German) supports local and regional history initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe in closing gaps in the culture of rembrance of National Socialst History.
This call for applications by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future is more concretely addressed to non-profit organizations working on local history in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
The objective of local.history is to make history tangible in the here and now by supporting multi-perspective projects based on democratic values and historical sources. Project formats are open as long as they connect historical topics with current debates in the respective countries.
The provided grants may range between 30.000 and 80.000 euros to cover costs for personnel, material as well as one-time costs without a limit on specific types of expenses. Contributions of own or third-party funds are not necessary but welcome. Projects start no earlier than June 15th, 2024, for a duration of up to 24 months. The decision of the international jury is conveyed via E-mail in May 2024.
