In 2023, the city of Elevsis will host the title of the European Capital of Culture, presenting a program entitled “MYSTERIES of TRANSITION”. The organisers are looking for projects or actions that will take place from 2022 to 2023.
In 2023, the city of Elevsis will host the title of the European Capital of Culture, presenting a comprehensive artistic, research and educational program entitled “MYSTERIES of TRANSITION”. The Municipal Single Societe Anonyme of the Cultural Capital of Elevsis, 2023 ELEVSIS invite individual artists, groups and organizations from all over the world to submit proposals for new projects or actions that will take place from 2022 to 2023.
The proposed projects / actions, may relate to one or more thematic axes (Culture, People, City and Environment), one or more areas of art and creation such as Music, Dance, Literature, Writing, Theater, Performance Art, Visual Arts and many more. Artists from all over the world can apply until 31 March 2021 and the final selection announcement will take place on 1 June 2021.
Elevsis is the fourth European Capital of Culture hosted in Greece. Drawing inspiration from the rich history of the city, 2023 ELEVSIS forms a comprehensive artistic, research and educational program, the MYSTERIES of TRANSITION, moving in four strategic areas: Culture, People, City and Environment. Accordingly, there are three distinct and interconnected central themes of the programme, People / Society, Environment and Labor, reflecting the unique features of the city and the contemporary challenges both Elevsis and Europe are facing.
