Open Call Artists

You yearn for a time and place where your creativity can flow unhindered, fueled by interesting thoughts and workshops? Kvitbrakka’s residency in Berlevåg, situated at a Norwegian bay on the Varanger Peninsula, might be this haven for you, giving you the chance to craft your project intensely and finally present it in a compelling exhibition.

KVITBRAKKA: RESIDENCY ON ECOLOGICAL FUTURE OF THE NORTH (NOR)

Since the start of the Kvitbrakka programme in 2012, over 50 artists of all styles and disciplines have resided there. Following the application process in 2024, which focuses on a clear motivation and the local impact of the proposed projects, selected international artists and art researchers will enjoy a stay there, lasting for one to two months.

Generous support from national and regional partner institutions make it possible to provide 5000 NOK / 420 EUR per person to cover any expenses. On top of that, it includes accomodation, free entrance to the Berlevåg Harbour Museum and a workspace. The intriguing workshops in the socio-ecological field range from the effects of global warming on oceans to post-fishing societies or diversity in the North.
