The Berlin Blue Art (BBA) Gallery announced its fifth annual BBA Artist Prize. Until 15 March all kind of artists from all over the world can submit their work to be considered for the prize. The winners will be selected by an international jury of art experts.
The prize aims to promote promising talents giving them the opportunity to be seen. To ensure a high standard an international jury of art experts will determine 30 different artists that will be on the so-called longlist. Artists from the longlist will be featured on the BBA website as well as getting actively promoted on social media throughout spring 2021. Ten to fifteen artists from the longlist will be selected for the shortlist. The shortlist artists will get the opportunity to exhibit in a group show in Berlin from 30th April to 2nd May 2021 at the Kühlhaus Berlin, one of the most favoured venues for cultural events.
Three artists of the shortlist will also be awarded with cash prizes. The first prize is a solo show at the BBA Gallery in 2022 and a cash prize of 10 00EUR, the second and third place will be awarded with extra promotion, an online solo show and a cash prize of 500 / 300 EUR. The BBA Gallery works with ‘emerging’ and ‘mid-career’ artists. It sees these industry terms as labels that help simplify complexity. However, BBA believes that artists do not need a label – they need a champion. A committed gallery, who kicks doors for them, introduces their work to collectors, shares their vision with the world.
