Open Call Dance Exchange

The Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with European and UK organisation, calls for dance artists to apply for the 2021 dance residency programme CROWD – international dance exchange. The residency will take place for six weeks during the second half of 2021.

The dance residency programme "CROWD" is a result of the cooperation of European partners. CROWD aims to support dance artists with an established practice in community engaged dance making. To fulfil this goal there will be a series of residencies in Germany, Finland, the Netherlands and the UK for dance artists who have experience with engaging with a community for the ideation, creation or performance of their work.

Until 21 February interested dance artists can apply for the opportunity to extend their professional network and work alongside other artists to exchange and practice, whilst gaining new knowledge in the community engaging.

The residency will take place for six weeks during the second half of 2021. The residency provides a fee per diem, the collaboration with two international artists, the chance to network with international artists and dance organisations as well as the travel and accommodation costs during the residency. Where required visas will be obtained. The participants must be based in the UK, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), the Netherlands or Finland and will need to be able to work in the UK and the EU.

The CROWD partnership includes Arts Council England (UK), NRW KULTURsekretariat (DE), Dansateliers (NL), TaikaBox (FI), TanzFaktur (DE), Theater im Pumpenhaus (DE) The Work Room (UK) and Dance4 (UK) working with the Goethe-Institut.
