Open Call Curatorial Research Residencies

With the start of September 2021 the ZK/U Berlin (Germany), G.A.S in Lagos (Nigeria), Bag Factory in Johannesburg (South Africa) and NCAI Nairobi (Kenya) will host a research residency programme called "TURN2 RESIDENCIES" with its focus on the curatorial practices.

The TURN2 RESIDENCIES are part of the TURN2 - Artistic Co-Creation between Germany and African Countries, a programme launched by the German Federal Cultural Foundation. The TURN2 RESIDENCIES are a joint project of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation), ZK/U Berlin and the Triangle Network. The residencies will be carried out in collaboration with organisations from Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria.

Through the TURN2 RESIDENCIES curators and cultural practitioners with curatorial experience (visual arts, cross-disciplinary) from Germany will come to Johannesburg, Lagos or Nairobi and applicants from Africa will come to Berlin to explore the vibrant cultural scenes as a starting point for sustainable curatorial exchanges.

The Deadline for applications is 5 April 2021. Travel expenses, rent and additional costs for the research will be covered and there will be a monthly artist fee of 1500€. More information can be found here.
