Open Call defrag

defrag - zine for feminist_utopian thought experiments - is looking for contributions for its third edition. The organisers especially welcome submissions from Black people, People of Color and/or Jews*Jews and/or FLINTA and/or queer people.

The defrag zine is an intersectional-feminist and anti-racist zine collective based in Düsseldorf, Germany. It is a self-published print magazine that has been in existence since 2019. defrag - in IT this term stands for defragmentation, i.e. restructuring and a new arrangement of individual elements. The zine also wants to reassemble thoughts and give creative processes a space. defrag is an open format and combines artistic and scientific positions with an intersectional-feminist attitude. Illustrations stand next to essays, photographs find a place next to cultural scientific analysis, poems and music mixes.

The organisers are looking for texts, photographs, essays, illustrations, music mixes, short prose, scientific texts and poems by answering the questions: What occupies you, drives you, excites you, inspires you, excites you, what do you wish for, what do you long for and how do you express it, how do you present it creatively, what is your medium?

The Open Call is open to all, but the organisers especially welcome submissions from Black people, People of Color and/or Jews*Jews and/or FLINTA and/or queer people. Text contributions (German/English) as PDF and images with at least 300 dpi resolution as JPG, TIF or EPS can be submitted until 17 April. More information can be found here or on defrag's Instagram account.
