Open Call Dok Leipzig

The International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film takes place from 17 to 23 October 2022. The call for movies and XR-work is open now! Artists can submit documentaries, animated films and innovative XR works.

DOK Leipzig is an international festival for documentary and animated film, being the first in the world to combine these two genres. DOK Leipzig is built on more than 60 years of history and takes place every year in autumn. Since 2015, DOK has provided an exhibition platform for the art of interactive and immersive works.

There are several Call's open for this year's festival: Truth and reality are always a matter of testing boundaries, that's a concept that DOK Neuland explores through new realms of experience in film. Virtual or augmented reality experiences, 360° films, sound installations and media art in a completely new form can be submitted here.

35 projects from 36 countries have been selected to participate in the 2021 DOK Co-Pro Market. Last October, the project teams were meeting potential co-production, financing and distribution partners face to face in Leipzig and online. Ambitious, creative documentary projects in development or early stages of production and feature-length documentaries suitable for theatrical release as well as one-offs and series documentaries with an international audience in mind can be submitted for this year's market.

DOK Short n’ Sweet invites accredited film professionals to pitch their short film project in front of an international panel of buyers and distributors and an engaged audience of producers and peers. The organisers are looking for: Short film projects (up to 30 min) in all stages from development to post-production. All forms of documentary, animated documentary and animated film as well as series are also welcome.
