Open Call European Award

The European Award is the leading Award championing new dialogues between the arts and audiences. The call is open to all registered non- profit and cultural institutions or organisations.

Cultural divide, identity withdrawal, unequal access... the challenges are significant. How to adapt to the successive upheavals of our societies? How to recreate the link? It is urgent to act on these new realities and renew the methods of sharing arts and culture with as many people as possible. Working against all social, economic and geographic barriers, the Award encourages new forms of audience engagement and participation in arts and culture, supporting innovative projects, across all art forms, that can be shared, replicated and scaled across Europe. It is a question of fighting against all economic, social and geographical barriers in order to renew, together, the dialogue between the arts and the public.

Applicants must be registered non- profit and cultural institutions or organisations, with a venue open to the public, from the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Only one application is allowed from each cultural organisation

3 prizes of €50,000 each and 1 Audience Choice Award of €10,000 will be awarded to support and stimulate best practices in audience engagement, participation and access to arts and culture in Europe. The award also contains an annual publication and website to offer a platform for sharing and disseminating best practices as well as an annual colloquium to encourage international dialogue on audience engagement and participation among international arts professionals.

Applications can be submitted until 31 August. The award ceremony will take place in December 2022. More information can be found here.
