Open Call European Spaces of Culture

Until 13 June 2021, the European Spaces of Culture project accepts submissions for proposals to find new innovative ideas of what European cultural relations can be. Each project needs to be co-created with at least three local stakeholders, a minimum of three EUNIC members and the EU Delegation. Project teams can apply for up to 60,000€ for entire projects.

The open call is divided in three steps. In the first one the project teams can meet to present a relevant project idea that follows the principles of international cultural relations. Step one ends on 13 June 2021. In step two a selected number of ideas will be further developed into project proposals in detail, this step takes four months. in the third and last step a number of projects will be selected to be implemented as pilot projects in 2022.

More information about the open call can be found here.

This open Call is part of the second phase of European Spaces of Culture that has an envelope of 500,000€ plus an additional Mobility grant scheme of 14,000€. European Spaces of Culture is testing innovative collaboration models in cultural relations between European and local partner organisations in countries outside the EU. At the heart of the project lies a new spirit of dialogue, in which equality, mutual listening and learning represent the core values that help build trust and understanding between peoples. As a Preparatory Action, it was initiated by the European Parliament. The European Commission attributed the project to EUNIC. By gathering policy recommendations, the project contributes to the EU strategy for international cultural relations.
