Open Call European Theatre Convention

European Theatre Convention (ETC) is looking for emerging theatre artists (particularly stage directors and dramaturges) to join in the sixth edition of the ETC Artist Residency Programme.

The Residency Programme is a scholarship that supports international cooperation, fosters new perspectives and professional artistic experience and offers placements of 4 to 8 weeks at ETC Member Theatres: Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe (Germany/Karlsruhe), Cyprus Theatre Organisation (Cyprus/Nicosia), Divadlo Jána Palárika v Trnave (Slovakia/Trnava), Göteborgs Stadsteater – Backa Teater (Sweden/Gothenburg), Schauspielhaus Graz (Austria/Graz), Slovak National Drama Theatre (Slovakia/Bratislava), Slovensko Narodno Gledalisce Nova Gorica (Slovenia/Nova Gorica).

The residents will join the creative team of a theatre production process, thus gaining insights into new working methods and discovering the daily routine and structures of a European public theatre. The Programme also offers travel from your hometown to the theatre within Europe and countries participating in the EU, accommodation during the time of the residency in the city of the theatre as well as a participation in the ETC International Theatre Conference in Opole (Poland) in May 2023 (including travel, per diems and accommodation). ETC is closely following the development of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe. The residency placements might be cancelled or postponed if travel or event restrictions in the participating countries make it impossible for them to take place as initially planned. Deadline for submitting applications is 25 October. Find more information about the Open Call criteria here.
