Open Call FiSH

FiSH – Filmfestival im StadtHafen – is a yearly event dedicated to the young German and Baltic film scene that takes place in the city harbor of Rostock, Germany. The submission phase for the 19th edition of FiSH film festival is open until 15 January 2023.

The heart of the festival is the German-focused JUNGER FILM (young film) competition and its Baltic-alter ego, the OFFshorts competition. Both aim to award the best short films of the current independent filmmaker generation. Applicants for the OFF shorts competition have to be from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland or Sweden. All genres and themes for films up to are welcome for both competitions, applicants have to be not older than 26 years old.

In cooperation with the Medienanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Media-Competence-Prize awards annually the best media educational project of the region. Educational institutions and school classes, recreational and children's facilities, clubs, youth and senior citizens' groups, and individuals from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are welcome to submit their media education projects from 2021 to 2023.

Moreover, together with the PopKW e.V. FiSH awards the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern music video prize: PopFiSH music video award. All genres are welcome, if the artists originate from Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. The winning music video gets 1000 € prize money.
