Forecast is a German-based international art festival taking place in Berlin. International artists will have the opportunity to work with six accomplished international mentors within the 6th festival edition in 2021/2022. Deadline: 28 February
For the sixth festival edition taking place in 2021/2022 the Forecast team have chosen six international mentors who all engage with practices which question the status quo: the Mexican architect Tatiana Bilbao, the Italian digital policy expert Francesca Bria, the Swedish experimental singer and composer Sofia Jernberg, the Austrian cartoonist Ulli Lust, the french choreographer Mathilde Monnier and the Nigerian artist Emeka Ogboh.
Artists and creative thinkers can apply until 28 February 2021 to work with one of the mentors. The applicants can propose projects and each mentor will nominee three applicants who will meet the artist at the Forecast Forum taking place in July 2021 in Berlin where the nominees will be able to exchange with the mentors. The 18 nominees will get an artist fee to present at the Forum. After the Forum each nominee gets several weeks to fine tune their proposals and submit the new version until 27 August. On 1 September each mentor will pick one nominee.
All six chosen nominees will get a production budget, an artist fee and several month to realise their proposals. In these months the nominees will go on one-on-one work-stays with their mentor and will be able to further deepen the exchange.
In April 2022 the finished productions will be presented at the Forecast Festival in Berlin.
Forecast offers artists and creative thinkers from anywhere in the world the chance to work with accomplished mentors toward bringing their projects to fruition. Forecast transcends neatly defined disciplines and genres to provide insight into creative production processes, and carve out space for the questions on the minds of the next generation of trailblazers.
