Open Call Ice Hot Nordic Dance

Ice Hot is an event that presents both the new coming and emerging as well as the already established names of Nordic contemporary dance and choreography artists. The organisers are looking for performances for the next Ice Hot Nordic Dance Platform edition taking place in Helsinki, Finland from 9 to 13 February 2022.

Performers and presenters from the field of contemporary dace can apply until 19 April 2021. The applicants have to be professional artists or companies living or receiving support from at least one of the Nordic countries. The work applied needs to be intended for touring.

Applicants can apply with one production for the section "Performance" or with one or several works for "More More More presentation".

In order to apply in the performance category appilicants need to upload a technical rider, light plot and stage design in the application form. The production needs to be available to be performed at Ice Hot Helsinki 9-13.2.2022. A 15-minute pitch presentation based on video aids and speech, including dialogue with a moderator is needed for the “More More More” category, 1-2 artist/company representatives need to be available to give the presentation in person at Ice Hot Helsinki.

The selected performances will be compensated with a small fee for the More More More presentation. For performances from outside Helsinki capital area, Ice Hot will cover an up to four nights stay, subsistence and travel costs to Helsinki. Ecological ways of travelling are encouraged. In addition, all selected artists and companies will be offered tailored coaching services in connection with their participation.

The first Ice Hot Platform was arranged in Stockholm, Sweden in 2010, as a pilot project, and then in Helsinki, Finland in 2012, in Oslo, Norway in 2014, in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2016 and in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2018. The Ice Hot Helsinki 2022 starts a new cycle of platforms touring all Nordic countries.

Ice Hot Nordic Dance is a collaboration network of partner organizations in five Nordic countries: Dance Info FinlandDansehallerne (Denmark), Dansens Hus Oslo (Norway), Dansens Hus Stockholm (Sweden) and Ice Hot Reykjavik (Iceland).
