Open Call INTERFILM 38

Berlin's largest and oldest short film festival, interfilm, is looking for short films for it's 38th edition that will take place from 15 to 20 November 2022. Films may not be longer than 20 minutes, and not older than two years.

Short films can be submitted until 30 May 2022.The festival organisers do not specify their criteria, they are generally open to everything the short form has to offer. Films produced to a high standard with an international flair for success, but also those that are courageous in style and content are desired.

The38th edition of the interfilm Festival will take placefrom 15 to 20 November 2022 with 7 competitions: International Competition, Confrontations Competition, Documentary Competition, German Competition, Green Film Competition, Eject XVIII and Online Competition. Submitted films will be considered for all festival categories, including those at festival's partner festival, KUKI 15 - Young Short Film Festival Berlin. Since 2018, the winners of Best Live Action and Best Animation Award in the International Competition will be eligible for consideration in the Live Action Short Film and Animated Short category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.
