Open Call Jewish Filmfestival

The 29th Jewish Film Festival Berlin | Brandenburg will take place in Berlin and Potsdam from 13 – 18 June. It is one of the largest Jewish film festivals in Europe focusing on Jewish life and its constant change. You can still apply until 15 March to make your film become part of the festival.

The Jewish Film Festival Berlin I Brandenburg is very important for the diverse Jewish life in Germany. Since 1995, the festival is an opportunity to get insights into the diversity and complexity of Jewish culture and life in past but also in present while opposing all forms of anti-Semitism, attributions and exclusions. It is organized by JFBB UG haftungbeschränkt.

Feature films and documentaries, short films, animated films, experimental films and series that deal with Jewish life and culture in history but also in the present and the future, in which a Jewish character or theme is essential for the plot, can be submitted. The production year of the films should not be older than 2022.

If you want to apply your film to become part of the programme, you have to submit a completely and truthfully filled out registration form as well as a screener link (e.g. Vimeo or YouTube) with English subtitles until 15 March. After submission, the artistic direction is going to watch all submitted films to decide which films are going to become part of the programme. Applicants will be notified via e-mail until 5 May. In addition to the physical festival, there will be an online version of the event at the same time. For the online screening of the films, the organisers use a platform with Studio Grade DRM.
