The Schwankhalle and Theater Bremen will once again host the performing arts festival OUTNOW! in Bremen, Germany from 26 to 29 May 2023. The organisers are looking for individual artists, directors, groups and collectives.
OUTNOW! presents artists, groups and collectives from all over Europe who are at the beginning of their professional careers. Individual artists, directors, groups and collectives who have been producing their own work for less than five years are invited to submit their current productions for the OUTNOW! Festival 2023.
Contributions from other disciplines such as media art, visual art and music that have a performative or theatrical reference are welcome, as are performances in public space and site-specific projects. In addition to productions, the organisers would like to place a special focus on processes in the comminh edition. The selection criterion is not only the submitted work, but also an examination of one's own artistic practice, forms of collaboration, and the sharing of research states. A corresponding educational background is not is not a requirement.
As a forum for young international theater talents, OUTNOW! offers the selected artists the opportunity to be on site during the entire festival. In addition to internal discussion and encounter formats, OUTNOW! also offers professional advice on organizational and aesthetic issues. Travel and transport costs, accommodation and meals in Bremen during the festival period will be covered. In addition, an expense allowance compensation will be paid.
