Open Call projects in Tartu

The call for proposals aims to support the implementation of international cultural projects to interpret the concept of the art of survival of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 in the years 2023-2024. The call encourages participation in projects that target audience-oriented events and that can be supported by the creation of new works of art.

The call does not fund infrastructure development costs, institutional fixed costs, or the publication of regular media. The project submitted in the application must correspond to the values of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024, i.e. represent and pass on the values and directions of the creative concept Arts of Survival, which are: a greener urban and rural culture education and imagination, physical and mental health, cross-generational co-creation, promotion of local specialties, critical awareness, cross-industry, regional and international cooperation. The three main themes for Arts of Survival are: "Tartu with Earth: Ecology Before Economy", "Tartu with Humanity: Forward to the Roots", "Tartu with Europe: Greater Smaller Cities". Each of these programme lines consists a number of transversal, transnational and transgenerational projects which open up the "Arts of Survival" values.

The application must include the project concept and value proposition, the minimum and maximum project action plan with the budget for the implementation of both plans, the key stakeholders in the implementation of the project (project manager, artistic director, communication or marketing manager, etc.), the expected audience of the project and the planned communication and marketing activities to achieve their participation, the plans to ensure and improve the accessibility of the event to the public and the risks associated with carrying out the project and the plan to mitigate them.

Applications can be submitted from 1 January to 3 April 2022. More information about the call and how to apply can be found here.
