Open Call SCHIESSLHAUS AiR

SCHIESSLHAUS AiR is a newly founded artists’ residence with a publicly funded artist in residence program – a studio house for professional artists and at the same time a cultural venue. Artists and creative professionals from Germany and abroad are invited to apply for a two-month residency at SCHIESSLHAUS AiR in Kollnburg, Germany.

The residency program takes place in the monument award-winning "Schießl-Haus" in Kollnburg. During the two-month residency the selected artists will be provided with living, working and exhibition spaces. The guest artists are supervised by the artistic directors of SCHIESSLHAUS AIR.

The public program of SCHIESSLHAUS AiR offers the guest artists a high-publicity platform to present their artistic work. The selected artists will participate in three events: the Jour-Fixe (lecture series and networking event with workshop), the “Kollnburger-Kunstsonntag” (informal project presentations) or the Open Studios, and the SCHIESSLHAUS AiR Annual Exhibition (November 2022).

The call is open for visual artists of all disciplines, as well as for other creative fields such as film, theater, literature, architecture, sound, design, and music. The organisers especially encourage applications that seek to pursue interdisciplinary approaches at the interfaces of art, science/theory, media and technology.

The residency periods are:
(1) May 7 – July 2, 2022
(2) September 13 – November 5, 2022
(3)  July 9 – September 3, 2022

The organisers also especially encourage artists fleeing the Ukraine to apply for the artist residency (Period A: May-July). DISSIDENT BELARUSIAN and RUSSIAN artists and cultural workers are also welcome to apply. Applications for all periods should be submitted before 1 May. More information can be found here.

SCHIESSLHAUS AiR is an artist-in-residence project of the Municipality of Kollnburg under the artistic direction of Anna-Helena Klumpen and Katrin Savvulidi that promotes contemporary art, cultural education and participation, and encourages intercultural encounters.
