Open Call Script Pitch

The Script Pitch is part of the fringe program interforum at the interfilm Festival. The organisers are looking for compelling screenplays and captivating pitches for short films.

Since 2013, with the Script Pitch, interfilm has been inviting the authors of innovative short films to Berlin to work on their screenplays and pitch them in a competition in front of an international jury after an intensive week of workshops and coaching. interfilm is looking for gripping, moving, funny or thought-provoking, but in any case original screenplays for short fiction and animation films up to 20 minutes in length.

In preparation for the Script Pitch a pre-selection committee will select 8 international writers / filmmakers to take part in the six-day script lab which will take place in October (online) and November (in Berlin), where they will work on their screenplays and presentation of their material. In addition to the Script Pitch competition, which will be held during the festival week, all participants are provided with a practical and stimulating workshop program to accompany the competition within the Script Lab.

During the Script Pitch participants will have 5 minutes to pitch their ideas to a jury of film and media professionals. Directly after each pitch, participants will have another 5 minutes to answer question by the international jury. The winner will receive a prize of 2000 Euros, will automatically become a part of the development-program CineSud ShortLab, will follow tailored coaching sessions throughout the year and will be guided through every step of production from scriptwriting to distribution.

Applications can be submitted until 15 June. Find more information here.
