The International Solo-Dance-Theater Festival is looking for young choreographers for the next festival edition that will take place between 16 and 19 March 2023 in Stuttgart, Germany.
The International Solo-Dance-Theater Festival provides an overall view of the latest trends in the solo-dance-theatre scene. As participants in the competition, choreographers and dancers from around the world, are requested to perform a solo piece which is new, original, imaginative, unique and which displays unusual achievement.
Young choreographers can apply with a contemporary solo piece that will be premiered or is not older than one year at the time of performance at the festival in March 2023. The performance length must be between 9 and 12 minutes. Choreographies should be developed on the basis of a contemporary and, above all, original movement language. The choice of themes and music is optional. The piece may be interpreted by the choreographer. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and no more than 30 years old.
Cash prizes of € 16,000 will be awarded during the festival:

Applications can be submitted until 11 November. Participants have to agree to be free to perform on all four days of the event and to be available free of charge for interviews, film and television recordings as well as photo shoots. More information can be found here.
