Open Call SOUNDCAMP

The Global Forest art association is awarding two short-term residencies during the months of March-April 2022. The organisers are looking for young artists who want to explore the world of birds.

The residencies are aimed at young artists up to 28 years of age. Both residencies will be 3 to 5 weeks long and will take place in the period from the beginning of March to the end of April. A special perspective on as well as a direct engagement with nature - in particular with birds or topics/properties from this context - should be recognizable within the products that the residencies will work on. Socio-political issues can also be individually and artistically in focus. The presentation of the residency results is planned for the Vogelklang Sound Camp Festival that will take place between 29 April und 1 May in St. Georgen in the Black Forest, Germany.

Thefestival is a locally and independently organized event linked to a global network of diverse stakeholders with the goal of exploring the behavior and habitat of the  feathered friends through art and creative contributions.

As part of this initiative, a wide variety of sound camps around the world will connect to form a global acoustic network during a weekend between 29 April und 1 May. This will create a 24-hour livestream of morning chirps, in which the Vogelklang Sound Camp will also participate. Along the sunrise a worldwide phenomenon is made experiencable: the morning song of the birds. In addition to the livestream, a cross-media festival program with workshops, lectures, installations and performances is taking place during the weekend.

More information can be found here. Applications can be submitted until 13 February.
