Open Call Web Residencies

Akademie Schloss Solitude and the collective dgtl fmnsm are looking for artists to apply for a web residency. Applying artists are invited to experience, explore and enjoy taking a restful break in a utopian space of possibility from an intersectional and queer feminist perspective.

The organisers are interested in what artists and collectives do in their breaks, which aesthetic and emotional practices exist and which ones have yet to be invented. Individual artists as well as groups and collectives are invited to adopt the space of the radical pause, shaping it as they see fit: Go on vacation, complete an aesthetic project that has long been eating up the breaks, or design the own break-free utopia.

The Call is organised by Akademie Schloss Solitude and curated by dgtl fmnsm and is open only to queer people, BIPoC and FLINTA (women, lesbian, inter, non-binary/enby, trans and agender people).

All groups and artists who apply for the call will be invited to decide who should be selected. This call is rewarded with a 4week residency and a 750-euro grant. Deadline for submitting the applications is 15 November. More information can be found here.

The collective dgtl fmnsm has been examining what virtual potential lies in the contemporary performing arts and how a theater of the future might look in digitalized societies in hybrid and interdisciplinary formats, both online and offline. Akademie Schloss Solitude is an international and transdisciplinary artists’ residence. Its unique model affords artists and scientists valuable freedom to develop their work and perform research in both a physical and digital context.
