Pina Bausch Fellowship

The organisers of Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography and the Arts Foundation of North-Rhine-Westphalia are looking for virtual cooperation for the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography.

The Arts Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Pina Bausch Foundation co-developed a grant programme and award annually the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography. The organisers are looking for this year's digital fellowship for virtual cooperation such as cooperations with renowned institutions of dance and choreography education, unpaid cooperations with ensembles or choreographers, or virtual studies of dance techniques with renowned personalities.

The adapted format gives grant holders the opportunity to test how exchange and artistic development can be realized in the digital space. The design of the virtual format is left to the creativity of the applicants and their cooperation partners. The 2021 fellowship runs from 1 June until 1 August 2022.

The applying dancers have to be university/academic degree in dance and/or two years professional experience with a renowned ensemble, applying choreographers have to have independent creation of at least one production with a public performance in the last three years.

Keeping the artistic legacy alive of the dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch and carrying it on into the future is the task of the Pina Bausch Foundation. After Bausch's death, her son Salomon established the charitable Pina Bausch Foundation on August 3rd, 2009 in which he has placed her entire artistic legacy in accordance with her wishes.
