The international improvisation, jazz and world music festival Rīgas Ritmi 2023 will take place on 5 - 8 July with artists from Cuba, Switzerland, Mozambique, Spain, France, Denmark and the United Kingdom.
RIGAS RITMI is an annual international contemporary jazz and world music festival held in Riga, the capital of Latvia on the first week of July. Starting from the year 2011 festival is held three times a year - winter, spring and summer, still leaving the summer session as its main event.
The main Latvian artist at this year's festival edition will be Maestro Raimonds Pauls, who together with the chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga will premiere the symphonic jazz program Songs Without Words. One of the main goals of the festival is to educate both listeners and young musicians, that is why the festival also offers jam sessions and workshops. Official jam session evenings will be held in the bar of the hotel Radisson Blu Latvija - Riga Jazz Lounge, in which both the concert artists of the festival and other guests will participate. Workshops of outstanding artists such as Charles Pasi or Yilian Canizares will be part of the festival. The programme of the festival can be found on the festival's website.
