The Thespis Festival is an annualy festival for monodramas, taking place annualy in Kiel, Northern Germany. Visitors will get the opportunity to see reunions with old friends in well-known and in new roles, new discoveries and young artists from all over the world (most of them currently living in Germany), as well as readings, lectures, discussions, workshops, and much more at this year's THESPIS festival.

The official opening ceremony with the guests of the festival that traditionally takes place prior to the festival opening performance on the large stage of the theater will take place on 13 November.

The Polish actor Marcin Bortkiewicz will perform the monodrama SATANA on 13 November at Flandernbunker. Based on Thomas Mann's novel DOKTOR FAUSTUS, Marcin Bortkiewicz repeatedly involves the audience in his story, and when the devil himself finally appears on stage, everyone is ready to eat out of his hand. Marcin Bortkiewicz's performance has earned him over a dozen national theater awards and numerous excellent reviews, including at the Prague Open Mozart Festival and the Edinburgh Festival. He was already a guest at THESPIS in 2003. In the meantime he is also successful as a film director and screenwriter. He will perform on Saturday November 13, at 4 p.m.  in Flanders bunker.
